IND vs ENG: 4th T20I Preview – India’s final chance to salvage the series

India and England will face each other in the fourth of the five-match T20I series on Thursday. The visitors lead the series 2-1 and it is a must-win encounter for Virat Kohli and his men who lost the third T20I comfortably. It was a brilliant show from the Eoin Morgan-led side thanks to Jos Buttler and Mark Wood who excelled in their respective departments.

Toss is playing a crucial role and the hosts will have to win it to have any chance of levelling the series it seems. Though Virat Kohli has time and again talked of embracing the challenge of posting a total and defending it, his team is yet to walk the talk. Rather the problem of batting first seems to exist with both the teams and there will be no better time for them to solve the issue.

Team News

India – The home side has fielded three different opening combinations with KL Rahul being common who has mustered only one run in three matches. He looks set to continue despite his failures while there is a chance of Rahul Chahar playing ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal who hasn’t been at his best in this series. Suryakumar Yadav could also get an opportunity to bat at 4 or 5 in place of Shreyas Iyer. There is also a case for Deepak Chahar to come into the side.

England – The visitors clearly don’t need any kind of tinkering to the side with the series up for grabs. They can think of experimenting in the final game if they manage to win this encounter. However, given the fact that the T20 World Cup is to be played later this year, it might be tempting for Eoin Morgan to give fair chances to all players in the squad.
