IPL 2021: MI vs SRH Preview – Hyderabad search for their first victory

Mumbai Indians might have won five out of the last eight IPL titles, but they have faced their toughest battles against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 16 matches head to head, both the teams have shared eight wins and would be looking to get an edge over each other when they meet in their first match-up of the IPL 2021. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai where Hyderabad has already lost their two matches while chasing.

Mumbai, on other hand, suffered a defeat in the opening match of the tournament from Bangalore but came back from the jaws of defeat to script a remarkable victory against Kolkata in the next match. With conditions suggesting difficult pitch for the batsmen, we could witness another low-scoring thriller in Chennai.

Team News:

Mumbai Indians:

After betting on the young Marco Jensen in the first match as the South African returned with figures of 2 for 28 from four overs, captain Rohit Sharma used him for only two overs. He could be replaced with Adam Milne or Nathan Coulter-Nile who are experienced and have joined Mumbai’s camp. The rest of the combination should be the same with no particular reason to tinker with after their win against Kolkata.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Sunrisers Hyderabad have some issues to think about after their successive losses. With David Warner and Jonny Bairstow playing, Kane Williamson, who could be useful on this track in Chennai is sitting on the benches. Jason Holder bowled well on his comeback, replacing Mohammad Nabi, and picked up three wickets. He should continue to keep his place in XI. But, Vijay Shankar could be left out, having not performed with the bat or ball in the two matches. Abhishek Sharma, who was in good form with the bat in domestic cricket, could be a good option as he can also provide them with an extra spin option.
