IPL 2022: DC vs RCB Preview – Fired up Delhi square off against Bangalore

The Delhi Capitals will face off against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 27 of the IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 16. Both teams will be heading into this clash on the back of contrasting results in their previous games. While DC got the better of the Kolkata Knight Riders by 44 runs, RCB suffered a 23-run loss to the defending champions Chennai Super Kings.

The Capitals seem to be peaking at the right time as far as their batting is concerned and with the inclusion of David Warner in Playing XI, it only seems to be getting better for them as his presence also boosted the morale of youngster Prithvi Shaw as the duo added a 93-run opening stand against KKR. They also have a rock-solid middle-order. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav has been Delhi’s standout performer with the ball in hand having registered 10 scalps to his name from four matches. He took 4/35 in the last game as well.

As far as RCB are concerned, their bowlers showed great efforts in the last match against CSK where they kept things tight in the first 10 overs before the Chennai batters went berserk and ended up posting a mammoth 216/4. Their batting let them down right from the beginning and had it not been for the consistent middle-order batter Dinesh Karthik’s 14-ball 34 along with crucial knocks from Shahbaz Ahmed (41) and Suyash Prabhudessai (34), the margin of defeat would have been a humiliating one for the three-time finalists.

Predicted XI for Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Delhi Capitals

The Delhi Capitals showed a lot of faith in West Indies sensation Rovman Powell but, he has only disappointed so far creating pressure on the middle-order with his early dismissals. Therefore, the team management would now be looking forward to giving a chance to star Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh if he is fit.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Star medium-pacer Harshal Patel who had left the IPL bio-bubble owing to personal reasons will not feature in the clash against the Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore are likely to make one change in their bowling. Underfire Akash Deep could warm the bench and seasoned pacer Siddharth Kaul might feature in the Playing XI.
