The two teams had finished at the bottom of the points table last season and they would be eager to make amends this time around after having made some smart and important buys at the two-day mega auction in Bengaluru last month.

The Orange Army added South African batter Aiden Markram, Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran to strengthen their batting along with skipper Kane Williamson. At the same time, they also have a lethal bowling attack that include Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, Karthik Tyagi, Marco Jansen to name a few.

The Royals also have enough firepower in their 2022 squad. Their batting lineup comprises of promising opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Rassie Van Der Dussen, James Neesham, etc whereas, the batting attack include the likes of Navdeep Saini, Obed McCoy, Prasidh Krishna, Trent Boult and more. Expected Playing XI of both sides

Sunrisers Hyderabad

With a strong squad on paper, both teams would be looking forward to having a memorable IPL 2022 campaign. Coming back to the first game of the season for the two teams, it would be interesting to seen whether the Proteas trio of Marco Jansen, Aiden Markram and Rassie Van Der Dussen will be included in the Playing XI.

Rajasthan Royals

The respective franchises had retained their captains Kane Williamson and Sanju Samson for this season and both have been offered INR 14 crore each as their retention fees. However, Williamson and Samson have a lot of work to do as they look forward to lead their sides to a second IPL crown this time around.
