IPL 2023: Washington Sundar ruled out of ongoing edition

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been handed with a massive blow in the form of Washington Sundar’s injury. The franchise took to its official social media handle to confirm the status. Sundar will miss the remainder of the IPL 2023 season due to a hamstring injury.

The all-rounder relished a fine outing in his last game against Delhi Capitals. He returned a three-wicket haul and scored an unbeaten 24 off 15 balls despite ending up on the losing side. Having picked up the hamstring injury, the player is set to undergo scans to determine how long it will take before he returns to action. However, Sunrisers have confirmed that the all-rounder will miss the rest of the ongoing season.

“INJURY UPDATE, Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury. Speedy recovery, Washi,” captioned SRH.

In his seven matches thus far, the all-rounder has collected 60 runs coming down the batting order and has scalped three wickets in the ongoing edition. The 23-year-old was signed by SRH for INR 8.75 crore at the 2022 mega-auction.
