Bowling in the death overs (the last four overs) in a T20 match is one of the most high-pressure situations for any bowler. The batters look to give it a full monty in the final stages of the innings and the bowlers have to be on their toes in that circumstance. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), only a few top-quality players have mastered the art of bowling at the death with the most wickets to their name.

3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (77)

Sunrisers Hyderabad seam bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar finds himself in the third position in this elite chart. The right-arm medium bowler has picked up 77 wickets in 999 deliveries in the death overs. In 118 innings, Bhuvneshwar has leaked 1533 runs with 130 fours and 59 maximums. He has bowled 312 dot balls and has a bowling average of 19.90. Bhuvneshwar is the only bowler to win the Purple Cap in back-to-back seasons in the IPL, having won in 2016 and 2017 editions.

2. Lasith Malinga (90)

With 170 wickets, former Mumbai Indians bowler Lasith Malinga is the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament’s history. The yorker specialist is the second name on this list as he has picked up 90 wickets in 917 deliveries at the death. In 109 innings, Malinga conceded 1196 runs with 81 fours and 41 maximums. He delivered 320 dot balls and has a bowling average of 13.28.

1. Dwayne Bravo (102)

As mentioned above, Dwayne Bravo is the leading wicket-taker in the history of IPL. While bowling at the death, Bravo tops the list here also as the right-arm medium seamer has picked up 102 wickets in 1115 balls. In 125 innings, he has leaked 1810 runs with 129 fours and 88 sixes. Bravo bowled 344 dot balls and averages 17.74 in the said period. He won the Purple Cap twice in 2013 and 2015 as he also holds the record for the joint-most wickets with Harshal Patel in a single season (32 in 2013).
