Early Career
Born in Mumbai, Shreyas Iyer extended the list the fantastic batsmen born in the city. He lighted up the Ranji Trophy season of 2014-15 with an excellent performance on debut. His exciting batting filled with exquisite strokes soon catapulted him into the national side. The middle-order batsman made his international debuts in 2017. He also became an IPL captain at a very young age.
IPL Exploits
Iyer won the Emerging Player award in his debut season for Delhi in 2015 where he scored 439 runs in 14 matches with four fifties. The youngster was named as the captain of the side after Gautam Gambhir stepped aside in 2018. Iyer took his talented IPL side to the semi-final of the IPL 2019 and nearly allowed them a chance to play in their first-ever IPL final.

Shreyas is active across various social media platforms and makes frequent appearances in the off-the-field section. One of his interests is performing handy magic tricks. He has released quite a few videos of him bamboozling his friends and his teammates. Shreyas is also fond of Basketball and utilised his holidays by watching live NBA action. He also shared his picture taken with Shaq O’Neil.
