Gujarat Titans managed to win the IPL 2022 title on their debut season in the tournament with impressive all-round performance. They spend the highest INR 10 crore to sign New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson during the IPL 2022 mega-auction and INR 6 crore for Shivam Mavi during the IPL 2023 auction.

8. Kolkata Knight Riders – Pat Cummins – INR 15.5 crore, 2020

Kolkata Knight Riders spent only INR 5.4 crore during the entire IPL 2023 auction to sign eight players. However, their most expensive came during the IPL 2020 auction, when they signed Australian pacer Pat Cummins for INR 15.5 crore.

Sunrisers Hyderabad spent a record INR 13.25 crore to sign English young batter Harry Brook to make him their most-expensive buy in their IPL auction history, surpassing INR 10.75 crore they spend on Nicholas Pooran during the IPL 2022 auction.

Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) made the headlines for spending INR 16 crore to sign star Indian batting all-rounder Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj became the most-expensive player in the entire IPL auction history that time and was at top for the next six years.

Lucknow Super Giants broke the bank by spending INR 16 crore to sign West Indies star Nicholas Pooran during the IPL 2023 auction. Pooran also became the most expensive LSG player and the most expensive wicketkeeper batter in the entire IPL auction history.

Punjab Kings altered the IPL history books by investing a record INR 18.50 crore to sign English all-rounder Sam Curran in the IPL 2023 auction. Curran became the most-expensive player in entire IPL auction history, fetching more money than the likes of retained stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
