BCCI unveils exhilarating highlights of the action-packed 2023 season

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently unveiled a video featuring action-packed highlights from the 2023 cricket season. The compilation offers Indian cricket fans a riveting glimpse into the most memorable on-field moments from various events.

The highlights video also features noteworthy championships that India has won this year, like the 2023 Asia Cup and the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The 2023 cricket season began with team India defeating Sri Lanka 2-1 at home in the Twenty20 International series. Following the T20I series, the men’s team secured the ODI series 3-0. Meanwhile, India won the first-ever ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in January 2023, defeating England by seven wickets in Potchefstroom.

Following that, India defeated New Zealand 3-0 in the ODI series and 2-1 in the T20I series. Meanwhile, the Indian squad finished their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as semifinalists and the Rohit Sharma-led team emerged victorious in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, 2-1. During their trip to the West Indies, India went on to win the Test, ODI, and T20I series. In the Asia Cup 2023 final at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India defeated Sri Lanka by ten wickets to claim the continental championship for a record eighth time.

Both the Indian men’s and women’s teams took home gold at the Asian Games. Meanwhile, India finished as runners-up in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup after losing to Australia by six wickets despite having an incredible campaign. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s side made history by defeating Australia and England in the one-off Test series in December.

India’s first game in 2024 will be the second Test match against South Africa which will commence in Cape Town starting from January 3, 2024. On the same day, the women’s team will play their first match when they take on Australia in the third and final ODI at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
