IND-W vs AUS-W: T20I Series – Top five performers

The three-match T20 international series between India Women and the mighty Australians is done and dusted and it’s the Women in Yellow who have sealed the series by a margin of 1-2. After losing the opening fixture, the Aussies bounced back to win the second and the decider T20I, all in Navi Mumbai.

Notably, the Australians also whitewashed the Indians 0-3 in the ODI series that took place earlier. In the T20Is, a few of the players from either side did well in the series with their notable performances and they appear in this article.

Let’s take a look at the Top Performers from the T20I series between India Women and Australia Women:

1) Smriti Mandhana

India’s Smriti Mandhana ended the series as the highest run-scorer. The left-handed opening batter was the only one to cross the 100-run mark from either team in the series. Mandhana amassed 106 runs in three innings at an average of 35.33 which included one half-century. The 27-year-old opener racked up scores of 54, 23 and 29.

2) Alyssa Healy

Australia skipper Alyssa Healy won the Player of the Series award. The opening batter struck joint-third most runs in the series. Healy mustered 89 runs in three innings at an average of 30 which included one half-century. The 33-year-old smashed 55 off just 38 with nine fours and one maximum in the series decider while chasing the target of 148.

3) Annabel Sutherland

Aussie all-rounder Annabel Sutherland won the Player of the Match award in the series decider. The right-arm bowler picked up the match and series-winning figures of 2/12 which included crucial scalps of Jemimah

Rodrigues and captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Overall, Sutherland took four wickets in three innings at an average of 12.75 and an economy rate of 5.10.

4) Georgia Wareham

Georgia Wareham picked up the joint-most wickets in the series. The leg-break bowler snared five scalps in three innings at an average and strike rate of 12.20 and 14.00 respectively. Wareham’s economy rate was really impressive at just 5.22. Her bowling figures in all matches were 1/20, 2/17, and 2/24.

5) Deepti Sharma

India’s Deepti Sharma was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the series with Wareham. The right-arm off-break bowler took five wickets in three innings at an average and strike rate of 15.60 and 14.40 respectively. Her economy rate was 6.50 in these matches. Deepti’s figures in all T20 internationals were 2/24, 2/22 and 1/32. The all-rounder also struck 44 runs in the series.
