3) 102 – UAE in 2015

India faced the UAE in the 2015 ODI World Cup in a Pool B clash in Perth. Batting first, Mohammad Tauqir’s men were dismissed for 102 as only three batters got to double digits. All six bowlers who bowled for India took at least one wicket but Ravichandran Ashwin starred with a four-for. India made light work of the chase as Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 55-ball 57 helped the defending champions win by nine wickets in the 19th over.

2) 83 – South Africa in 2023

India and South Africa clashed in the league phase of the ODI World Cup 2023 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. Virat Kohli scored a hard-fought century on a sluggish pitch as India put on 326/5 in their 50 overs. The Proteas batters were all at sea against the disciplined Indian bowling and were eventually bundled out for 83. Ravindra Jadeja spun a web around the South African batters and finished with figures of 5/33 in nine overs.

1) 55 – Sri Lanka in 2023

Asian giants – India and Sri Lanka locked horns in match 33 of the ODI World Cup 2023 in Mumbai. Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer scored half-centuries to take the hosts to a mammoth first-innings score of 357/8. The Indian pace troika of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami wreaked havoc as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 55. Shami finished with career-best figures of 5/18. The 302-run winning margin was also India’s biggest in terms of runs in ODI World Cup history.
