Sachin Tendulkar visits Afghanistan team ahead of their Australia clash

Legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar paid a surprise visit at the Wankhede to spend time with the Afghanistan team as they gathered in Mumbai for their next game at the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Afghanistan will be going up against Australia, on November 7, and as the side began their training for the game.

Besides, Tendulkar arrived to give them a pep talk. Presenting a memento to Mohammad Nabi, Tendulkar was also seen talking to the team in a huddle surrounded by the entire squad, support staff, and even some ground staff.

In the clip of the moment that has been doing the rounds all over social media. Tendulkar was seen chatting with ace Afghanistan spinner, Rashid Khan, along with the rest of the Afghanistan team. Sharing some tips with him and even sharing a laugh as the side prepared to take on the Aussies.

Afghanistan well in race for semifinal berth in World Cup

Talking of Afghanistan’s performances at the ODI World Cup 2023, the side has played seven games in the tournament. Afghanistan have managed to register wins in four of those games. Sitting in sixth place, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side is level on points with fourth-placed, New Zealand.

An upset win against Australia could boost Afghanistan’s chances to make it to the knockout stages of the tournament. The side will take on the Men in Yellow after their recent win against the Netherlands.

Afghanistan and the Netherlands faced off in the 34th game of the tournament. After conceding 179 runs in the first innings, Afghanistan put forth a dominant display with the bat to chase down the target and win the game.
