Suryakumar Yadav returns to Mumbai Indians camp ahead of upcoming clash

Ace batter Suryakumar Yadav has returned to Mumbai Indians’ camp ahead of their clash against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, April 7. Suryakumar missed out on recent clashes for both MI and India after he underwent a sports hernia operation.

Before that, an ankle injury had ruled him out of action. Meanwhile, the surgery proved to be successful and he recently received a fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

In a clip posted by MI’s official handle on X (formerly Twitter), Suryakumar was seen entering the team hotel after getting out of a SUV. “Jiska humein tha intezaar,” (The one we were waiting for) Mumbai Indians captioned the post.

Mumbai Indians still in search of first win in IPL 2024

Speaking of Mumbai Indians’ performances in the ongoing IPL 2024, the side has had a forgettable season under the leadership of all-rounder Hardik Pandya so far. In the three matches that MI has played so far, they have not won a single match.

With zero points in three matches, MI currently sits in 10th place in the standings with a net run rate of -1.423. They have faced the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Gujarat Titans so far, and have faced losses in every game.

However, their upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals could prove to be a ray of hope for the five-time champions as the Rishabh Pant-led Capitals have won just one of their four matches, with their only victory coming against Chennai Super Kings in Vizag.

Seeing the side’s form, Mumbai Indians will aim to register a win against Delhi Capitals and move up the points table.
