Bangladesh have announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming 2023 World Cup without a familiar face – Tamim Iqbal, the country’s most prolific batter. This exclusion can be attributed to Tamim’s ongoing battle with a persistent back injury.
The decision to leave out Tamim raised eyebrows across the cricketing world but the cricketer had himself cautioned the selectors about considering his back condition while finalising the squad, highlighting the seriousness of his injury.
