The Indian team has been quite consistent in terms of their performances in bilateral series and the number of victories has gone up considerably. Though the side has failed in pressure times and knockout stages, the preparation for the big tournaments have been on the money so far. Whether it comes to winning the crucial moments, the Indian team has done it all for a long time and let us look at three smallest T20I victories for India.

The series was on line in the final T20I in Harare against Zimbabwe in 2016 and India posted 138 for 6 in their 20 overs on the back of a half-century from Kedar Jadhav. In reply, Zimbabwe came very close to winning and they needed four off the last delivery to clinch an extraordinary victory. Barinder Sran, who bowled the final over, held his nerve to take a wicket off the last ball and India won the game by three runs.

India vs Bangladesh, 2016

This was in the 2016 T20 World Cup Super 10 stages at Bengaluru, and a spirited Bangladesh side provided a real scare to the MS Dhoni-led Indian side. The Men in lue posted 146 for 7 in their 20 overs and it came down to Bangladesh needing 11 off the last over. Mushfiqur Rahim hit two fours to get the equation under control and brought down to two needed off three deliveries. Pandya picked up two wickets in two balls and MS Dhoni effected a brilliant run-out on the last ball to produce an unbelievable victory for India by one run.

India vs South Africa, 2012

India were out of the race for a spot in the knockouts but they desperately wanted to sign off the T20 World Cup 2012 with a victory against South Africa. Chasing 153 to win, the Proteas kept losing wickets regularly despite the stunning knock from Faf du Plessis and it was down to 14 needed off the last over. L Balaji conceded two sixes in the over, but came back strong both times with two wickets and South Africa were bowled out for 151 to hand India a one run victory.
