Three batters with most ducks at number three in ODIs

Scoring a duck in any format of the game is something which a batter doesn’t really like to do so but cricket is such a sport of competitiveness where a bowler is always looking after wickets. As they say, someday you score a century and get out for a nought on the other.

Let’s take a look at the 3 Players with the most ducks at number three in ODIs

3. Younis Khan (12)

Younis Khan played a total of 265 ODIs and 255 innings and at no.3, he batted in 125 matches and 122 innings. In those, the right-handed recorded 12 ducks, which is the most by a Pakistani batter on that position and third-highest overall in the 50-overs format. He scored those ducks in the span of 2005-2015. The veteran batter registered three out of the 12 ducks against England, two against Australia and one each against Ireland, India, Bangladesh, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and West Indies.

2. Virat Kohli (15)

Virat Kohli

In the third and final ODI of the recently-concluded series against West Indies, Virat Kohli scored a duck which took his tally to 15, the second-most by a batter at no.3 position in ODI matches. In 197, former captain Kohli got ducks thrice each England against West Indies, twice each against Sri Lanka, Australia and South Africa. He scored a duck each against New Zealand, Zimbabwe and Pakistan. Interestingly, the 33-years old Kohli has second-most runs and also the second most ducks on no.3 in ODIs.

1. Ricky Ponting (16)

Former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting tops the list for mustering most ducks on the crucial no.3 spot in one-day internationals. Like Kohli, Ponting too is the batter with most runs and also most ducks on that spot.
