WPL to celebrate Women’s Day by offering free entry for all on March 8

The inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League has been unique in many ways, but one major way that the tournament has managed to stand out is in its strong representation of women’s empowerment. The tournament also gained a lot of traction by announcing free entry for women in the stadiums on matchdays throughout the competition.

With Women’s Day right around the corner, the tournament recently announced free entry for everyone during match 6 of the tournament. The match will be played between Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Brabourne Stadium on March 8. March 8 is celebrated by the United Nations as International Women’s Day to celebrate womanhood and their achievements from all walks of life.

Thus, in solidarity with the women fraternity, WPL decided to bring everyone together to celebrate womanhood on the special day. The news was announced during the fourth match of the tournament between RCB and MI, which was also confirmed by WPL through their social media platforms.

“A Special Way to mark a Special Day! #TATAWPL celebrates Women’s Day with Free entry for all for the #GGvRCB match on March 8, 2023!” WPL posted on Instagram.
