Top 5 players to watch out for in Women’s Hundred

The Hundred 2022 is being played from August 3 to September 3 this year and just like the men’s tournament, key importance will also be given to the women’s edition with some talented players across to globe all geared up to showcase their cricketing skills.

The eight-team 100-ball tournament will see the Oval Invincibles defending their title in what promises to be a competitive environment this time around. Without further ado, here’s a look at the five players to watch out for in Women’s Hundred.

5. Deepti Sharma

Deepti Sharma has been a valuable asset of the Indian women’s team in the past few years and apart from providing breakthroughs with her right-arm off-break, she can also be a handy batter in the top and middle order. The UP cricketer currently occupies the fifth spot in the ICC Women’s T20I Bowlers and all-Rounders Rankings and she would be eager to make the most of her opportunities in the upcoming competition. Deepti will be representing Birmingham Phoenix.

4. Meg Lanning

Meg Lanning needs no introduction whatsoever. She is the most successful captain in women’s cricket history, having led Australia to multiple world titles and at the same time is also a very accomplished batter. She currently occupies the top spot in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings for batters. Lanning will be representing Trent Rockets.

3. Alyssa Healy

The destructive Australian power-hitter batter Alyssa Healy would definitely be a player to watch out for in Hundred 2022 and has the potential to single-handedly take the game away from the opposition with her power-hitting techniques. Healy occupies the first position in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings and will be representing Northern Superchargers.
