WI vs IND: 5 players to watch out for in T20Is

Team India defeated West Indies 3-0 in the ODI series with the Men in Blue overpowering the home side. The focus now shifts to the shorter format. The first match of the T20I series will be played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on July 29 (Friday). While team India will be under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Nicholas Pooran will lead the home team and both teams will want to come on top during the 20-over matches.

On that note, let us take a look at five players to watch out for in the T20I series between India and West Indies:

5. Rohit Sharma (India)

Opening the batting for visitors, skipper Rohit Sharma will want to provide an excellent start to his team in the upcoming T20I fixture. To note, Rohit played well against England during the T20I series but could not convert his starts to a big total and he will be looking to redeem himself in the upcoming series against the Men in Maroon.

4. Deepak Hooda (India)

With senior batter Virat Kohli missing from the squad, talented batter Deepak Hooda is likely to play at number three for the Men in Blue. Hooda batted at that position during the first T20I match against England and played a decent knock. However, he was dropped from the team after Kohli made his return to the team for the next two encounters. Hooda has also looked in good touch during the ODI series against West Indies and will want to replicate his form in the T20I series as well.

3. Kuldeep Yadav (India)

Making his return to the Indian team after a long haul, left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav will want to perform well with the ball and try to fix his place in the Indian squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup. Kuldeep bowled exceptionally well during the 2022 Indian Premier League and he will want to emulate his performance for the Men in Blue as well.

2. Nicholas Pooran (West Indies)

West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran will have the responsibility to provide a solid finish to his team in the upcoming T20I series against Indies. The left-handed batter can be very dangerous with the bat and can change the momentum of a match within a few overs. Pooran will remain one of the key batters for the home team in the upcoming series.

1. Akeal Hosein (West Indies)

West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein will play a major part in trying to stop the flow of runs during the field restrictions for his team. The left-arm spinner is a very clever bowler and he will want to take wickets with the new ball and put his team in a commanding position.
